The year 2020 will no doubt go down in history as a pivotal moment for the entertainment industry across the world. Be it old shows Ramayan, Mahabharat returning to screens, or industry shutting down during pandemic, many notable elements have made the year stand out. The last few years were quite eventful as they also marked some successful comebacks. From Rupali Ganguly to Karan Singh Grover, a number of actors have made their TV comebacks and their presence left the audience awestruck.
Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey: As the shooting began post lockdown, we saw actress Rupali returning to screens with Anupamaa on Star Plus. She was last seen playing the lead role in Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kucchh Meethi on Sony TV. Along with Rupali, talented actor Sudhanshu Pandey also made a comeback after 24 season 2.
Sukirti Kandpal: The young lass who was part of shows like Dill Mill Gaye, Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahani, also returned on the small screen with Story 9 Months Ki on Sony TV . The show had a progressive storyline but failed to impress fans and went off air.
Cezanne Khan: Remember Anurag Basu in Kasautii Zindagi Kay? Well, the handsome hunk Cezanne made his smashing comeback as Harman in Colors show Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. He replaced actor Vivian Dsena.
Karan Singh Grover: The talented actor, who has been part of some memorable shows like Dill Mill Gayye, Qubool Hai and others returned to television after six years with the reboot version of Kasautii Zindagii Kay. He had played the role of Mr. Bajaj in Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan starrer show.
Amar Upadhyay: The talented actor became hugely popular as Mihir Virani in Ekta Kapoor’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, however, he quit the show to try his luck in films. However, after a long gap, he returned to TV with Colors show Molkki wherein he is playing the lead role of Virendra Pratap Singh.
Karan Kundrra: The young actor made a much-awaited entry on the popular Star Plus show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Ranveer. He played the role of Sirat’s (Shivangi Joshi) love interest in the daily. With Yeh Rishta show, he made a comeback on TV after a long time as he was exploring opportunities on the digital platform.
Aditya Redij: Television actor, who is known for portraying Raghav Saghvan in Na Aana Is Des Laado, made a comeback on screen after three years with Colors show Bawara Dil. In an interview, he was quoted saying that it was important for him to be convinced about his comeback character before he said yes.
In the upcoming shows, we hear actors Gia Manek and Kunal Karan Kapoor will also return to small screens after a hiatus.
Well, we hope the season of comeback continues and we get to witness amazing performances in the coming years.
