TV actor Priyal Gor’s Bollywood debut, Badnam, with Mohit Sehgal seems to have hit a roadblock.
According to sources, this Vikram Bhatt production is stuck due to some issues with distributers. When asked about the same, Priyal said, “Might be, but I really have no clue as I have not spoken with Vikram yet, with whom I have very good terms, having done 2 web series (Maaya 2 and Memories) with him.”
“We have finished our main shoot of Badnam in November last and only patchwork is left. Films are always a challenge.” Her well-known small screen shows have been Ram Milaayi Jodi, Ammaji Ki Galli and Dekha Ek Khwaab.
It is also being suggested by others that possibly, distributors are not very happy with non-tv names.
Vikram’s last horror film, 1921, with TV actor Karan Kundra also did not set the cash registers jingling.
Point out that with Mohit doing Nach Baliye with his better half, will that not further delay the film, and she replies, “Well, it is not my lookout to bother about his dates. That is the job of the production house. Also, this being my first Hindi film, it is not my place to question the makers on what and why.”
“I am a very positive person and have moved on. I am now looking for fresh films, TV and web series. I had a good 2-month sched with the Badnam unit, and we also shot in London. Mohit is a great co-star.”
On TV, would you want to try your hand at naagin and dayan (hit supernatural genre) shows? “I don’t think my cute face would fit such an evil character. I did play a sweet snake-woman in Ichhapyaari Naagin.
In closing, Priyal, who has done several regional films before, is now only looking at Mumbai-based projects. “For the moment, web series are my first choice, for they are not only short-term assignments, but also offer good scripts.”
Priyal, who has done bold on web (Maya) says, “I would not mind doing more such roles if the character is strong enough.”
We tried to get in touch with both Vikram and Mohit, but could not get through to them.
Later, Vikram Bhatt told us, “There is no delay at all. It is coming on 13th September.”
