Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut Productions organized an educative fire drill exercise on the sets of its long-running and popular show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus yesterday (15 January).
Well, the fire drill for the production house is not something new as Rajan Shahi has been organizing fire drills regularly at his office and set for the past 8-9 years. However, this year, the production house intended to take the exercise to newer heights so that every member and actor present on the set gets to know how to maintain high levels of safety on the set, and how to handle a crisis situation in case of any fire emergency.
Says Rajan Shahi to IndianWikiMedia.com, “The basic idea of this fire drill was to bring everyone present on the set on the same platform, and educate them about the safety measures to be taken and implemented on set. Safety lies in the hands of everybody, and I therefore wanted everyone to be educated.”
Rajan Shahi had invited the members of CINTAA (Sushant Singh, Nupur Alankar and few others), Mr. Upendra who has written books on fire safety and standards, the security personnels of Film City, the management team of Film City etc to be part of the fire drill exercise.
Rajan adds, “I have always organized such drills for the past 8-9 years. This time, I wanted to take it to a bigger level. Accidents can happen at the most safest of places, and people need to be aware of handling such situations. The entire cast and crew of the show was present. Everyone learned to handle a fire extinguisher, open it and use it. We have also asked people to come up with their feedback on how to maintain high levels of safety on the set.If we all work together, we can keep our environment safe and clean.”
Apart from those invited, many of the industry people were present on the set to be part of the exercise and learn from it. “Actress Sunita Rajwar who is presently not part of Yeh Rishta was there to watch the whole process,” avers Rajan.
Indeed, safety should be given highest priority!! Way to go, Team DKP!!
