‘Ishq Pakeezah’ the upcoming drama series based on ‘Triple Talaaq’ produced by Creative Eye for Zee TV has found its female lead!!
The hunt to find the lead girl was on for some time now, and after looking at most of the popular faces of the TV industry (Eisha Singh, Pankhuri Awasthy and many others) the channel and makers have zeroed in on popular Punjabi model Kanika Maan for the lead role.
Kanika is a known name in the Punjabi music industry, having been part of many popular Punjabi songs. She has featured in the songs Roohafza, Viah, Chahtaan, Yaar Beli.
A credible source tells us, “The makers opted to go with a fresh face rather than the experienced actors. The concept is very strong, and Kanika aptly suits the role.”
Also, a newbie from Chandigarh by name, Rukhsar is slated to play the second female lead in the show.
We buzzed Producer Dheeraj Kumar and the channel spokesperson, but could not get through to them.
As reported by IndianWikiMedia.com, Vinay Jain, Gunn Kansara, Samiksha Bhatnagar will play key roles in the project. As reported by media, Adnan Khan will play the male lead.
The team will go for its first outdoor schedule in Lucknow once the entire cast is in place.
