Choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife Lizelle have addressed allegations of fraud following a complaint from a dance troupe accusing them and others of defrauding the group of Rs 11.96 crore. The complaint, filed by a 26-year-old dancer, has led to a case being registered in Thane district, Maharashtra.
According to FIR, the dancer and his troupe were allegedly deceived between 2018 and July 2024. The complainant claimed that despite winning a reality TV show, Remo, Lizelle, and five others falsely claimed the troupe as their own and took the prize money amounting to Rs 11.96 crore.
The complaint was officially lodged at the Mira Road police station on October 16, and charges have been filed under sections of the Indian Penal Code, including forgery and cheating.
In response to the allegations, Remo D’Souza issued a statement on social media. He expressed disappointment over the media reports and requested that people refrain from spreading unverified information. He assured that they would present their side of the story in due course and continue to cooperate with authorities. The statement also thanked their supporters, family, and friends for their ongoing love and encouragement.
