The ‘Ek Shringaar Swabhimaan’ couple, Ankita Sharma and Sahil Uppal, is back this time in a new setting and in a new show called ‘#Salaam Namaste Doston’. After Colors popular TV show ‘Ek Shringaar Swabhimaan’, the good looking TV actors will be seen together for the first time in ‘#Salaam Namaste Doston’. This musical TV series is being produced by IWMBuzz in association with Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan on Aajtak. The web cum TV series has been entirely shot in Resorts World Genting & Resorts World Langkawi in Malaysia.
The series is a musical reality travel show of four episodes where Ankita and Sahil will be seen dancing on 25 different songs at various locations of Langkawi & Genting in Malaysia. Ankita is a dancer par excellence who is known for her viral dance videos. So matching steps with Ankita was a task for Sahil Uppal, who will be seen in a totally new avatar.
Ankita says, “I am very filmi in real life and ‘#Salaam Namaste Doston’ is technically my ticket to Bollwyood. From dancing to 90s and 80s Bollywood numbers to latest Punjabi numbers, I had a blast shooting for the TV series. Resort Genting and Langkawi ensured all the hospitality and took special care of us. Saahil and me had already worked in Swabhimaan and this time we explored our chemistry to a new level as friends. Though we are friends in real life but for the TV series we looked quintessential romantic . From wearing the Kajol’s gerua red saree to dancing on yacht like Ameesha Patel in ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’, I did it all while romancing with Sahil in the TV series. We ensured that our chemistry is liked by fans and audience.”
Though Sahil Uppal played Ankita’s brother in law in Swabhimaan, this time here he had to match steps and romance with Ankita. He says, “I may not be a trained dancer but I am good at creating the right chemistry and that’s what I did with Ankita in ‘#Salaam Namaste Doston’. From the breezy locations of Genting to the water front adventure of Langkawi, we almost shot 25 dance sequences for the show. Along with that we explored the cuisine, adventure, spa and excellent luxuries of Resorts World properties in Langkawi and Genting. For all fans of Swabhimaan this would be a new side of mine and Ankita that will be seen in ‘#Salaam Namaste Doston’. Already fans are excited to see our pairing in this TV series and we hope to create an entertaining show this time. We not only created the show but also had great fun enjoying all the excellent arrangements at Resorts World Langkawi and Genting.”
‘#Salaam Namaste Doston’ is a musical reality travel show that showcases Resorts World Genting & Resorts World Langkawi. Ankita & Sahil explored the Asia’s Popular Entertainment destination. From the cable cars of Awana, to shopping at Sky Avenue, Ankita and Sahil also shot at Big Box in Resorts World Genting. They shot a beautiful romantic sequence at Chin Swee caves and Awana Forest.
While at Resorts World Langkawi, Sahil & Ankita explored the beach city of Malaysia. They had Mangroves safari at Kilim Geo Park along with a water sports retreat at Seeman Water Sports. They also made the Malay dance to Bollywood tunes at Tropical Charters Langkawi right in the middle of Andaman Sea on a sunset cruise. Sahil & Ankita also had an adventurous day out at Zipline Eco Park Umgawa.
The TV series will air this July on Aajtak as special feature on Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan, while it will stream as a web series on IWMBuzz.
IWMBuzz has earlier co produced celebrity chat reality show Showbiz With Vahbiz and has also organized India’s biggest web entertainment awards IWM Digital Awards.
