Shashi Sumeet’s ambitious ‘The Last Man Standing’ adaptation SCRAPPED

The show apparently will not see light of day

Sad news in the Shashi Sumeet Mittal camp.

The makers of Indian television’s one of the most successful shows, Diya Aur Baati Hum, was kicked and working had to beam the Indianised version of popular American sitcom, The Last Man Standing on Star Plus.

Media was abuzz with the ambitious attempt and expectations caught fire when names of probable cast members hit the news.

Vinay Pathak was signed to play the lead role, Girls on Top actress Barkha Singh’s name also popped in the air with Parmeet Sethi being  sounded off to helm the project as a the Director.

However, everything is now passé as per Indianwikimedia sources, the show has now been canned by the channel.

“The pilot was shot and things did look bright until a rough patch was hit. The precise reason for it being binned is not known yet, but yes, The Last Man Standing will not see a desi avatar anytime soon now,” informs a source.

We buzzed Sumeet Mittal (promoter at Shashi Sumeet Mittal Productions) and also a channel spokesperson, but did not receive any revert till the time of filing the article.
