The popular Star Plus show Ishqbaaz has ended after a great run. But the recent wrap up party held to celebrate the journey of the show did give rise to a faint doubt on whether all between the earlier lead on the show, Surbhi Chandna and the makers (4 Lions Films) was fine.
The buzz is that there is a kind of cold war going on between the Ishqbaaz Producer Gul Khan and Surbhi who was replaced last year in a last ditch attempt to save the show which wrapped up last night.
Surbhi was first replaced with Manjiri Pupala and later Niti Taylor stepped in as the new lead.
There was a lot of unconfirmed chatter back then which had suggested that one reason for her exit apart from shock value could have been that professional relationship between the two ladies had soured.
Officially it was maintained that Surbhi quit as she did not want to become a mother on screen so young. But there were clear indications that all was no well between them as apparently eventually Gul not only un followed Surbhi on Insta but also avoided making references to her characters as well.
Another indication that things might not be on even keel came when Surbhi did not turn up at the recent wrap up party thrown by the director Lalit Mohan, despite getting invited by Lalit and co star Nakuul Mehta.
Again her absence was explained that she was busy at shoot, but some guests at the party were overheard whispering that she did not turn up due bad blood with the production house.
Interestingly no one from 4 Lions core team was present as well. Producer Karishma Jain was the only one attending it.
We tried to touch base with all the concerned parties ie Gul, Surbhi and Nakuul but could not get through to them till the time of filing of this piece.
We only hope Gul and Surbhi do patch up as this is a small industry we are in..
