Melodramatic and extremely masaledaar, Indians love their TV shows no matter how baseless and repetitive their storylines might be. No matter how progressive Indian TV shows are trying to be today, the fact that they are still relying on tried-and-tested plot twists can’t be denied. Plot twists are meant to add some extra masala or breathe new life into a story, but if these start getting repetitive, then it becomes simply unbearable.
With the TRP competition rising, logic has been thrown out of the window and new plot twists are being introduced every fortnight in this world of TV. This rush for new elements in the story leaves no time for the writers to churn out fresher ideas, so, they decide to take the lazy way out, tried-and-tested ideas. While a bunch of those do give positive results, most older ideas end up being a flop due to repetition. Here we bring a list of tried and tested predictable plotlines from daily soap operas.

While he regained consciousness, he suffered from a stroke. The doctor informed Luthras that Mahesh has lost his memory.
