Dashing dude Karan Vohra is certainly going places. After Krishna Chali London (KCL), he might next be the lead of Ekta Kapoor’s Yeh Hai Mohabbatein Season 2 (Star Plus). The very popular YHM (Yeh Hai Mohabbatein) 1, starring Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel, is on its way out. Guess Ekta and Star want to cash in on the popularity of the brand with a brand new story.
A few days back, the name of Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha fame Aakanksha Singh was doing the rounds for the female lead. Now we hear that Karan Vohra’s name is right up there as the main male lead, though no final decision has been taken.
We had just this morning broken the news that KCL is shutting shop next month, so dates also match.
Looking at the YHM 2 casting, it seems that the makers are going for a slightly more mature love story. No wonder, Aakanksha, and Karan have been shortlisted. Normally most leads are very young boys and gals.
If this news is confirmed, this will be a big shot in Karan’s arm, who had recently shifted bag and baggage, from Delhi to Tinsel Town. KCL producer Saurabh Tewari had spotted Karan in the national capital for his other 2016 Zee TV show, Zindagi Ek Mahek.
Karan’s bearded look and personality was a big hit with female fans. Also, his chemistry with Mahek’s female lead Samiksha Jaiswal was sizzling. There were reports that something was brewing between them, which obviously did not wash down well with Karan’s wife Bela, who reportedly had a showdown with her on set.
After Mahek shut down in mid-2018 as both the leads did not want to extend the contract, Saurabh made Karan his new male lead in KCL. Existing hero Gaurav Sareen was informed of his exit just one week in advance.
Karan managed to generate good on-screen chemistry with KCL lead Megha Chakraborty as well. Balaji Telefilms honcho would expect similar sizzling chemistry with Aakanksha or anyone else.
“Apart from good acting, his chemistry with all his co-stars is one reason he keeps getting work,” ended our source.
We tried to reach Karan, producer Ekta Kapoor, and the channel spokesperson, but to no avail.
