Yeh Rishta ‘leopard scare’ news is completely fake – Producer Rajan Shahi

Producer Rajan Shahi rubbishes the news of leopard seen on the sets of Yeh Rishta as completely false and fabricated...

The ‘leopard’ scare in & around the Film City set has indeed created a fear amongst the shooting fraternity in the industry!! With lots of reports coming of the dreaded leopard seen on various sets of TV shows, the news has been in the headlines for some time now.

Recently, there was also a report of the leopard being spotted on the sets of Director’s Kut’s popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus. The story claimed that the animal was reportedly seen on the set when Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma were shooting with the cast, as part of the promotion campaign for the flick ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal.’

The report mentioned about SRK’s security guard spotting the animal first, post which there was chaos and disturbance among the cast and unit.

However, Producer Rajan Shahi seems to be miffed with the report.

Rajan spoke to IndianWikiMedia.com and expressed his disappointment citing the low reporting standards of certain media houses and publications. “Recently, some newspaper carried an article about a leopard being seen on our sets of Yeh Rishta. The report mentioned about SRK’s security guard seeing the animal and informing others. It mentioned of my production unit and directors getting afraid. But let me tell you, there was no leopard at all on our set. In fact, all were there till 4 in the morning as Shah Rukh Khan was shooting. My top members of creative team, production people and directors were present. None of them even got to know of a leopard hovering around. See reporting is good. But this is a serious issue when you write about a leopard being spotted. Above all, to create a false report is really bad. Whoever wrote it wanted to get eyeballs from the show and from the mention of SRK, I guess. I verified with SRK’s team, my production team and my directors and none were aware of the leopard.”

He further added, “I rubbish this news as totally false and fabricated. It is not correct to over-senstationalize a serious issue such as leopard scare on set. After the news got flashed in the paper, other publications added info and exaggerated it. In the last few days, many in the media have followed suit and have built up on the first story. Journalism holds a lot of responsibility and credibility, and the ones who were involved in making this false news should really have introspection whether or not to spread such false stuff.”

Well, hope this clears the air and remember, you read the clarification first on IndianWikiMedia.
