Renowned Writer and Creative Producer Agastaya Jain is gearing up for the launch of the Zee TV show Bas Itna Sa Khwaab on Zee TV. This Zee Studios show is creatively produced by Agastaya, who has penned the story too. He has been creatively associated with projects such as Meri Durga, Tu Chal Pudhe, Radha Krishna, and Qayamat Ki Raat. The show has Rajashree Thakur Vaidya, Yogendra Vikram Singh in main roles.

Donning the role of the Writer, Creator and Creative Producer for Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai, Agastaya takes us through the concept. “Avni who lives in Kanpur is a dependent partner who is happy in her own space. She is not eager to work and have a professional life of her own. That does not come in the priority list of Avni. However, when life throws at her the challenge of stepping out of home and earning her bread, she goes through the transformation phase with elan. Initially, she is deprived of family support. Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai is the tale of Avni as she steps out into newer territories and becomes an entrepreneur.”

“As said in the promo, Avni is a beautician at home. All the ladies at home take the services of Avni, and she is good at that. However, she does not hold a professional beautician degree. So when she is challenged to earn for the family, she tries to hone her beautician skills and make money for herself,” he adds.

The story seems to be yet another journey of a middle-aged lady who steps out into a new world to become independent. We have seen shows like Anupamaa emerge successful in this genre of storyline. However, Agastaya talks about the similarity between Anupamaa ending then and there. “Anupamaa is a benchmark show. Hence comparisons will be drawn. Anupamaa had a storyline of the protagonist having a deceitful husband. Here, Avni’s husband is loyal to her, loving too. He is not supportive of her decisions, that’s it. Certainly, the journey of Avni does not start with her husband cheating on her.”

“The comparison arises as the protagonists are 45-plus years old. The journey to become independent can be the same, but how the character deals with it is different,” he adds.

Talking about Rajashree Thakur Vaidya’s casting, Agastaya says, “When I was auditioning for the main role, I briefed my casting people that I needed an innocence in the face of the actor, at the same time, she does not look to be the doormat. Rajashree was the perfect choice as I saw the sparkle in her eyes which is very evident in Avni who has been having her own small victories in life. Also, of course, she has been the face of Zee TV, having done Saat Phere.”

“As for Yogendra Vikram Singh, I had seen him in Ghum Hi Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, and liked him as a performer. The character in no way is negative, it is just that the mindset and upbringing are different. Yogendra is mature as an actor, and he is from Lucknow and knows the mindsets of these Kanpur guys,” he adds.

“Another actor to look forward to in the show is Bhumika Gurung who plays the critical role of Shagun. She will surprise the audience with this unique role. She is for the first time doing a grey character who is equally justified in her actions,” he concludes.

All the best!!
