Writer Sharad Chandra Tripathi gets into a conversation about his new book.
How did writing happen to you?
I guess it was serendipity. I was treating my friends in a hotel where I saw this talent hunt of Balaji telefilms for writers and creatives happening and I just walked in and went through it and the next thing I got to know was that I have been called to Mumbai..So I left my medical career and joined Balaji.
Have you dabbled in acting too?
Nope. I can’t act to save my life.
Tell us something about your book 90s Wala Love?
It is a bouquet of 8 tales of nostalgic 90s. it is about love, care, and relationships which we are yearning for in today’s busy lives. Today, when relationships have become virtual and identities digital, l think these 8 magical stories will make you fall in love with the idea of “being in love” again.
What’s next?
English novel.. Hindi poetry book.. and a Hindi novel.. I am working on all three simultaneously.
Any movies in the pipeline?
Yup.. there are few very exciting projects I am currently working on. Just waiting for their official announcement so that I can share it with you all.
Your book has become the best seller, how does it feel?
It’s been just 5 days and the kind of love and appreciation it has garnered till now is so overwhelming and it always feels great to be appreciated. I am just thankful to everyone who has supported this book. And I will request you all to just keep sharing it with your loved ones.
What is Sharad the person like?
Crazy.. funny.. jovial.. sincere.. lazy.. talkative.. but very sensitive.
If not a writer what would you have been?
Doctor.. who I guess would have been narrating stories to his patients rather than treating them.
You have been writing a show like Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki for long now. How has the association been?
Of course.. but with a great channel team and creative team, we have maintained the glory and soul of the show so far.
Shakti has been an integral part of my life for the past 4 years. More than 1200 episodes and still going strong in itself speaks volumes about the effort the whole team has put to run this show.. it’s surreal.
10. what should we expect from sharad next?
Expect the unexpected. well jokes apart.. there are so many exciting projects i am currently associated with.. apart from writing.. will be directing my feature film soon.. production is also on the charts..Writing songs for few films.. producing singles with my LA Based friend Sapra. so yeah.. Loads of content creation and production is going to happen from here onwards. just need loads of love support and blessings from you all.
