Writer Gaurav Ahuja has surged on with his well-accepted work that stems out from the kind of versatility he has in his writing. His flair for writing compelling, and thought-provoking concepts gives him the confidence to try out different stuff at will. And with this, he is happy to break the stereotype with his writing, especially when it comes to being a writer for the Television industry.
Presently, Gaurav is in the writing team of the highly successful show on Colors, Choti Sarrdaarni. In addition to this, he is testing waters as a writer in the South as well as Bollywood too.
Says Gaurav, “Writing for television is a highly compelling task. It is a pity that writers are frowned upon when they introduce themselves as Television Content Creators, but it must not continue that way. If one must, there are a lot of fact-checks for us every week. Every Thursday is a reality check for us when the TRP report comes in and we see how our work has been received by our audiences. TV is a platform solely dedicated to the masses and working in such a dynamic and vibrant industry really gives a writer the true perspective they may need.”
Gaurav is presently writing the film Tumhari Pyari Savita which features Mallika Sherawat in the lead role. He is also working on a few web series on varied platforms.
“It’s not just Television that I have limited myself to. However, I’m currently working on a film from the Southern film industry, I have a Bollywood film in the pipeline, and there are many web shows and net series that I’ve been an active and participative part of. An example of my creative abilities can be observed by the fact that I’ve worked for OTT platforms like ALTBalaji and Ullu while also handling shows for family-oriented TV channels like Zee and Colors,” he adds.
Gaurav considers that he is blessed to be working even amid the huge crisis of Covid-19 that the entire Nation is facing. “It goes without saying, that the pandemic has been a tough time for me, just as it was for the rest of us. But the Almighty has kept me busy, having me working on projects even when we have been on a complete lockdown for almost 9 months. I always try to experiment with new things, and new opportunities are more of a learning, and these growing opportunities are like challenges to me.”
Best of luck, Gaurav!!
