Optimystix Producer Vipul D Shah, who has over the years given a huge platform to many talented comedians in the television industry, comes in support of Shashi Sumeet Productions. He feels that the controversy that revolved around Pehredaar Piya Ki was because people failed to understand the concept of the show. Hence, the show was abruptly ended.
He shares, “I strongly believe that people who are condemning the show have not watched it. They (Shashi Sumeet) were not showing anything wrong about marriage. At the end of the day, TV show is all about telling a story. Sometimes you agree with the story and sometimes not.”
Vipul further adds, “I personally believe that if you had an objection with Pehredaar, you should have opposed Balika Vadhu too. As in that daily, the maker in fact showed child marriage. After the show got successful, child marriages have actually increased in Rajasthan. If people would have understood the show Pehredaar it would not have got the backlash it faced.”
