Acclaimed Showrunner and Creative Director Siddharttha Vankar, who has creatively helmed recent popular shows like Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, Teri Meri Doriyaann, etc, has taken over the onus of being the Show Runner on the new Colors show, Meri Bhavya Life, produced by Sphere Origins. He is also creatively handling Doree 2 on Colors, produced by Jay Productions.
Vankar associates yet again with Sphere Origins, after having worked in shows Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani and Balika Vadhu.
Meri Bhavya Life, which has Prisha Dhatwalia and Karan Vohra as leads, comes up with a thought-provoking subject of how girls are always subjectified to their looks, and that their skills and other facets go unnoticed.
The story of Meri Bhavya Life does not revolve around the transformation of the hefty Bhavya to her thinner and fitter self, but is the inspiring tale of how it is a wake-up call to think beyond the plus-size woman and appreciate her for her inner beauty.
Siddharttha Vankar feels elated to have gotten the opportunity to tell this tale. He says, “Meri Bhavya Life is a great story to tell. It’s a story where the girl is not a damsel in distress, but she wears this as a chip on the shoulder that ‘Yes I am fat’.”
Talking about this concept that talks about body shaming, the Showrunner says, “Over the years, I personally have been body shamed and have seen many people go through this. People perceive that if you are fat, you must be eating all day. But no one thinks it could be any sort of medical problem.”
Targeting to create awareness in the minds of the public, Meri Bhavya Life sets out with a message. He says, “Hence, this show becomes pivotal because it talks about a girl who says I don’t care. This show, therefore, is the need of the hour.”
Talking about the great ensemble cast, he says, “Prisha Dhatwalia and Karan Vohra are amazing actors to work with- the entire ensemble of the cast are brilliant actors.”
