Cockrow and Shaika Entertainment, the makers of successful ongoing TV shows Choti Sarrdaarni (Colors) and Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin (Star Plus) have had a testing time of late with their shows seeing major roadblocks that arrested the free flow of the narrative.

Producer Rajesh Ram Singh and Pradeep Kumar faced crisis situations in both their shows recently, which needed quick reactions from the creative and writing teams to bring solidarity to the ongoing major drama in the shows.

Choti Sarrdaarni’s lead actress Nimrit Kaur was advised by the doctors to rest till she gets better in health. This called for an overnight decision to change the entire storyline, bring in a few important new entries and open up a brand new track, keeping the main character of Meher as the central focus.

On the other hand, when the story headed to a major twist in the tale of Pulkit and Devyani, the lead actors of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, Neil Bhatt and Aishwarya Sharma tested positive for Covid-19, which again meant that they had to change their highpoint and play it around the other characters.

Talking about the stunning twists and turns that the two shows have recently overcome, Producer Rajesh Ram Singh told IWMBuzz.com, “True that, we faced tough situations in both of our ongoing shows, literally at the same time. In television, shoots happen very cut-to-cut, but the planning that goes into the execution is huge. And when such unforeseen situations force us to change the whole plot that is going to come in, it has an impact on the broad story telling wherein whatever has been planned is not put to execution. However, a lot of things at times are not in our hands. And we exactly faced this. Thanks to our writers, creative team, channel support, we had to quickly pull up our socks and try something different.”

“Yes, Nimrit is not well and is in Delhi with her family, resting and recuperating. We are in touch with her and we get a weekly update from them over her health status as of now. Nimrit has lived the life and struggle of Meher all the way through, and has probably drained herself a bit with all the hard work. We wish her a speedy recovery, and we are looking forward to her return. It was in fact an overnight decision to switch the storyline, by adding the character of Sandhya into the thick of things. We are trying our best to keep afloat is what I can say. The channel has been very supportive. Choti Sarrdaarni has always been a show close to everyone’s hearts.”

“In Ghum Hai, two of our main actors tested positive for the virus, and again, we had to play around with the drama in a different way. We are glad that we could pull it off, and in spite the absence of two main actors, we could hold the storyline and create more intrigue over the last few weeks. Now thankfully, we are back on track with Neil and Aishwarya returning for shoot.”

Best of luck for the next new phase!!
