Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani the Star Plus show produced by DJ’s – A Creative Unit has been a word-of-mouth seller with more of the viewers getting engaged to the unique plot. The best part about the concept is that it is not the usual saas-bahu drama. It revolves around the education field wherein two very unlike minds clash. The show stars Karanvir Sharma and Debattama Saha playing the lead characters of Shaurya and Anokhi. The couple has received a very good response for the appealing onscreen chemistry.
While the show has been in the good books of audiences, a recent report in media created shock amid the loyal followers of the show. As per the report, the show had been apparently given an ultimatum and was put in a radar zone. In the time to come, it is slated to go off the air, said the report.
From the time this news has made inroads, the viewers and fans have gone berserk and feel that the decision if true, is unfair towards the show. Says Producer Deeya Singh on the recent off-air news, “No, I think there is nothing that is true to it. We are still slot leaders; there is so much story to tell. There are a lot of twists and turns coming up. I have no idea; people have nothing to say, so they keep speculating. There is no ultimatum got. All that is so untrue.”
Talking about the love the show is getting, Deeya points out, “I know the fans are so lovely. They love the lead character’s chemistry. They love what they are seeing. This show is not an out-and-out family drama. This is the story about a professor and his student, a territory not much explored on Indian TV. We have a lot of other tracks, of Anokhi’s sister, Shaurya and his family, and the possibilities in their tracks. We are really enjoying exploring this track related to education. The leads are two different people coming from two different worlds, with different ideologies and their clashes.”
Tell her that the show is put up in a tough slot, an early evening slot, and she laughs it off and says, “Every slot is tough. I don’t think there is an easy picking at all. We are trying, and we have to do what is really best. Yes, with time, and added support with promotion, the show will pick up. The team is doing its best. It takes a little time for anything new to resonate. People are used to seeing more of the family drama. We have not been in that space for a very long time. We are just grateful and happy for the support got. We have a great place to shoot. The technical team, writers, are doing a great job. You cannot have courage alone. The execution has to happen. We have a lot of people working hard. We have our Creative Director who is putting in her great job. She has problems in her family, left everything and came, and is still with us working. We had an actor who was with us shooting, even when her mom was ill. We cut her dates, lessened her track, and sent her back to be with her mom. So there is work happening amid a lot of problems. As a team, all are on top, whether it is editing or direction. We had Vikram Ghai coming in to help us.”
“In the writer group, we have Mitali, Damini, Bhavna (who writes for Anupamaa), Manisha (writer of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai) chipping in. Khalid Siddiqui was not well, he was Covid positive, and he messaged me that he will come up to shoot when I need him. Everyone is trying to help everyone. We are also working hard on keeping the environment happy, as there should not be any feeling of homesickness. We are just trying to make the best out of the situation,” adds the Producer.
