Sapna Malhotra producer of Alchemy films’s Woh Apna Sa speaks about her show Who Apna Sa…

What is the response you are getting for the show Woh Apna Sa which is being appreciated by masses and classes?

There has been an excellent response and I think the unpredictable twists are keeping the audience hooked and story is moving really fast right now. Infact, after so long, when I had the time to have a glimpse of it, was literally stuck by it.

How much you relate to the characters of the show?

This is surprising but now when I come across people and talk to them, they say that a person like Nisha (played by Ridhi Dogra) existing in a family is not believable. But when we look around there do exist such people or characters who are relatable in those terms. May be not to the extent Nisha is. I personally want to kill Nisha at each and every instance and I tell her this.

The casting has really worked, every character is perfectly cast. Did you ever imagine that the casting would be accepted by the audience to this extent?

Actually not but the thing is that all three of them I think, the way the characters were written when we decided to cast them, they were like Disha is what the character is, she totally relates to the character. Ssudeep is the person playing exactly what is expected of the character and Ridhi is not like Nisha, she is totally opposite of what she is playing but still she is playing the character beautifully. So I think they worked great for the show.

What is the best compliment you have got for the show?

The best compliment for the show is just the faces are amazing, gripped for the show and moving at a fast pace.

Your husband (Siddharth Malhotra) is workaholic, he is doing so many things, he is directing also and now you are also on the same path. How do you manage?

I guess God is just giving us the strength since both of us are in different fields at this point of time. Our house has become our office at this moment. But I think we are loving it and looking forward to our life now and our family is too supportive.

How do you unwind yourself?

With our kids. The minute I see them I feel rejuvenated. Films also unwind me.
