What inspired Laxmikant-Pyarelalji to use Aiyya in ‘Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar’ song?

Top eight contestants of Indian Idol 10 are all set to take you to a musical journey with amazing performances this weekend on ‘Laxmikant- Pyarelal’ special episode. Legendary composer Pyarelal Ji honoured the show with his presence and was startled with the astounding performances of the contestants. When Soumya Chakraborty asked Pyarelal Ji about how the word ‘Aiyya’ came into existence from the famous song ‘Dil vil pyaar vyaar’, Pyarelal Ji revealed that Laxmikant ji was the one who added these little nitty-gritties in a composition.

Pyarelal Ji revealed that the word ‘aiyya’ used in the song actually came from Laxmikant ji’s maid who was a Maharashtrian. Interestingly, Laxmikant Ji had a Marathi maid and she used to say ‘Aiyya’ and he liked the word so much that he used it in a song. There were many interesting stories such as these which inspired him to compose music.

Pyarelal ji from the sets of Indian Idol 10 said, “One day Laxmikant ji came and told me that I have got a new maid and she uses this word ‘aiyya’ in every second sentence that she speaks. Why don’t we use this in our new composition? That’s how the it came into the song.”

The sequence will air this weekend.
