TED Talks India Nayi Soch: Speaker Anirudh Sharma displays his idea of how pollution particles can be used to create ink

TED Talks India Nayi Soch, an initiative by Star Plus & TED aims to shed light on transformative ideas that are worth spreading and have the power to change how audiences see their world. The show slated to go on-air from December 10Sunday at 7PM hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, brings some of the most ingenious and diverse mix of speakers who will be an inspiration to billions of viewers. One such speaker in the opening episode is Mr. Anirudh Sharma, a scientist and inventor at Graviky Labs who has developed KAALINK, a retrofit technology which captures carbon emissions from vehicles or chimneys before it enters our atmosphere and recycles them into usable ink. In a first-of-its kind marketing initiative, Star Plus has created hoardings across Mumbai & Delhi made by the AIR-INK, created by the speaker’s initiative. The opening episode will be simulcast across Star Gold, Movies OK, Star World, Star Pravah, Star Jalsha along with Star Plus & Hotstar.

A graduate of Fluid Interfaces Group, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Anirudh has researched extensively on augmented reality and improving the relations between humans and machines. Commenting on his experience as a speaker on TED Talks India Nayi Soch, he said, “I am extremely honored to be a part of such an initiative. If your ideas can influence a billion other imaginations, what more could you ask for. Also an opportunity to share the stage with someone as accomplished as Shah Rukh Khan was elating. I’m glad that Star Plus has given me an opportunity to showcase our initiative to billions of people across the globe.”

Mr. Narayan Sundararaman, Business Head, Star Plus said, “The core purpose of TED TALKS INDIA NAYI SOCH is to make powerful, impactful ideas accessible to billions of people and inspire them to think beyond the scope. Mr. Anirudh Sharma is a perfect example of how ideas are essential to make an impact. At a time when the youth of the nation isn’t afraid of taking risks and a start-up culture is fast taking shape, we believe that Mr. Anirudh will definitely inspire billions with his creativity and innovation. He has collaborated with our creative team to create billboards that can speak of his innovation.”

Talking about his invention, Anirudh added, “The creation of this recycled ink from pollution particles has its genesis in the fact that in the last 100 years, we have sent humans to the moon, but in the mad rush to become technologically advanced we have destroyed nature. Since I was a kid, I wanted to use advanced technology to make a change and bring solutions to our problems. I wish to be able to recycle the pollution created by fossil fuel sources like petrol, diesel and others into resources that can reduce pollution and make clean air available. The idea is to make people believe in the fact that air pollution can be seen as a resource, if recycled the proper way. Each 30 ml AIR-INK pen is made by recycling about 40-50 mins worth of diesel car pollution.”

Partnering the campaign as title sponsor on Star Plus is Glacéau Smartwater from Coca-Cola and powered by sponsor is Idea – 4G, ‘TED Talks India Nayi Soch’, will take forward Star’s mission to inspire billions with an eclectic mix of speakers, thinkers and doers who have brought about societal change with just an idea!
