What a stellar showreel to announce season 2 of the very popular series, Squid Game! Helmed by Hwang Dong Hyuk, who is the all-in-all of the series, marked immense eminence last year, when the first season was released.
And now with putting an end to the eternal wait of its fans, the streaming platform of the show Netflix has announced it season sequel on Twitter.
As season of Squid Game gets announced the director has now led a hint on returning of Gong Yoo, who played the role of the recruiter in the previous season. With no time after the news got published through the popular streaming platform Netflix, on Twitter, fans couldn’t stop but go gushing all through and through for the show.
Posting a teaser of the show on Twitter, it stated, “Red light… GREENLIGHT! Squid Game is officially coming back for Season 2.”
Netflix further added on the director’s note for fans saying, “Hwang Dong-Hyuk writer, director, producer, and creator of @squidgame has a message for the fans:”
The message read, “It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life last year. But it took 12 days for Squid Game to become the most popular Netflix series ever. As the writer, director, and producer of Squid Game, a huge shout out to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show. And now, Gi-hun returns. The Front Man returns. Season 2 is coming. The man in the suit with ddakji might be back. You’ll also be introduced to Young-hee’s boyfriend Cheoul-su.” As quoted by News 18.
Talking about season 2’s story line, Hwang said, “The focus will be the story of Seong Gi Hun (played by lead actor Lee Jung) unravelling (the mysteries of the organisation behind the game). The overarching plotline of Season 2 will be the story of the people that Gi Hun meets and the people he chases after.”
