Two FIRs have been filed against actor Ranveer Singh, with regard to his naked photoshoot that he recently did for the paper magazine. The complaint logged against him refers that Ranveer has ‘hurt sentiments of women’.
Recently, television actress Sumona Chakravarti came forward in Ranveer’s support. Firstly, she shared a news article about Ranveer on her Instagram Story which read, “’He hurt sentiments of women and insulted their modesty’. 2 cases filed against Ranveer Singh over nude photoshoot.”
Whilst sharing the article Sumona wrote, “I am a woman. Neither is my modesty insulted not my sentiments hurt.” The actress also shared a screenshot of her mother’s reply on her previous instagram story about Ranveer. Her mother wrote, “Pics were great. God knows which sentiments got hurt. Maybe they wanted to see more.” Answering it, Sumona wrote, “This is what my mother, also a woman had to say.”
Talking about the filed case, a Mumbai-based NGO had registered the FIR against Ranveer under various Indian Penal Code Sections like 292 , 293, 509 and provisions of the Information Technology Act in Chembur police station. An official from the NGO said the actor has hurt the sentiments of women in general and insulted their modesty through his photographs.
