Sana Amin Sheikh is one of the actors who take small breaks in between her challenging roles on TV!!
Sana who is presently part of Star Plus’ Naamkarann in a cameo role claims that she does not know the future fate of her present cameo. But the fact that she plays a cop for the very first time in her career keeps her high on energy.
Says Sana, “I have deliberately taken a decision in my career that I will take rejuvenated breaks in the form of my radio experience, holidays, the smaller roles and my lead roles. After Krishndasi, I got various offers, but nothing worked out. Since Krishndasi set high standards for me as an actor, I had to carefully choose my next project. I was on the lookout for lead roles, but when this cameo role was offered to me, I wanted to take it up. The role started off as a bar dancer but is actually of a cop. The role of the cop provides me variations. I recently shot for scenes where I had to pose to be a South Indian. All these challenges give me the opportunity to add my own nuances to the character.”
On playing a cop for the first time, the actress avers, “I have never played a cop. I never knew that I will pull it off as a cop. Also, I never dreamt of anyone casting me for a cop, especially because of my petite nature. So in simple words, my stint in Naamkarann has helped me break the barrier and explore with my own talent.”
She adds to say, “In all my earlier shows, I have been seen in sarees. Since I play a cop, I need not wear a saree. I need not wait for 15 minutes for someone to drape the saree around me and add it up with jewelry and hair-do. This is a good break for me.”
On her new look in the show, Sana exclaims, “I wear the formal pants with lovely jackets. I only need to tie up my hair into a pony and put on subtle make-up. Overall, I will enjoy this challenge till it lasts.”
Way to go, Sana!!
