Kapil lives a lavish life. He has multiple properties in Mumbai and a bungalow in his native city in Punjab. Kapil along with his mother and his wife Ginni Chatrath, stay in DLH Enclave in Andheri west. According to the sources, the flat cost him approximately Rs 15 crores. Kapil has also constructed a bungalow in Punjab at an expense of Rs 25 crores. Reportedly, he owns a Mercedes Benz S Class and Volvo XC 90 that cost Rs. 1.19 crores and Rs. 1.3 crores respectively.
Now, talking about his controversies, as per reports, Kapil once got into a brawl with the government. He tweeted, calling out Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials who demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from him to build an office. His tweet went extremely viral and remained in the headlines for weeks. His tweet received an instant reply from the then Maharashtra CM, Devendra Fadnavis, who asked for all the information regarding the matter. However, later Kapil tried to lighten the controversy by tweeting that he didn’t seek to blame any particular political party.
According to reports, a drunk Kapil was hurling abuses at Chandan Prabhakar, and that is when Sunil Grover, who tried to step in to take charge of the situation, but Kapil got even more upset, and ended up physically and verbally assaulting the latter.
As per several media reports, Kapil reportedly earned about Rs. 34.98 crores in 2019. The actor charges about Rs. 80 lakhs to Rs. 90 lakhs per episode for Sony TV’s The Kapil Sharma Show. The stand-up comedian, who dabbles multiple roles in the entertainment industry, reportedly has a net worth of about Rs. 170 crores and an annual income of more than Rs. 30 crores.
