The Kapil Sharma Show has been winning hearts ever since its launch, and the wait has been totally worth it with rib-tickling episodes featuring the Bollywood biggies. This weekend, audience will get to know some interesting stories of their favorite actor from the yesteryears – Shatrughan Sinha. Joining him will be his wife Poonam Sinha and son Luv Sinha.

Shatrughan Sinha played negative characters in the beginning of his career and Kapil dint lose an opportunity to enquire whether his family had an issue with him playing ‘Raavan’ type roles. It’s a known fact that Shatrughan Sinha’s family is named after the characters in Ramaayana and his bungalow in Juhu is called Ramayan. To which Shatru ji shared that he was a late-latif and was known in the industry for his late-latifi. Superstar Manoj Kumar, whom Shatruji treats as his elder brother once had said that it is because of his late-latifi that he is getting all Raavan type roles and had he been punctual with his time, he would have bagged the roles of Ram (positive characters). Since Shatru ji was still setting his foot in the industry back then, he grabbed every opportunity that came his way and over a period of time, he did start getting positive characters to essay on the big screen.

Shatru ji also confirmed the rumor that he had slept-off during the narration of Kaalicharan. It was Subhash Ghai’s first movie as a director and Shatru ji recalls, “Those days, I was working multiple shifts and had returned home at 3am and Subhash Ghai came to my house at 4am and insisted on narrating the script of Kaalicharan. Since this time of the morning is Brahmamuhurtha (which is good for meditation) and Subhashji wasn’t  narrating verses from Ramayan, it was obvious for me to doze off.” He further added that during the narration, he completely missed the interesting part of NO17 that received a lot of adulation from the audience once the movie released. NO17 upside down read LION – the most famous villain in the history of Bollywood essayed by late Ajit saab. 

Next morning, producer NN Sippy called Shatru ji and praised the script and told him that he should do this movie – which he did and rest as they say is history. Subhash Ghai went on to deliver superhit movies like Vishwanath and Gautam Govinda with Shatrughan Sinha.
