Ankita Lokhande is one of the established actors in the industry today.
The actress was born in a Maharashtrian family residing in Indore. She did her schooling and college from Indore itself. Ankita always aspired to be an actress but had to let go of her dreams and was just about to join Frankfinn academy and her luck knocked through a talent contest.
Though her family was really not happy when she expressed her desire to become an actress she convinced her parents and moved to Mumbai in year 2005. Ankita got an opportunity to show her talent on Zee cine superstar ki khoj in the year 2006 where she was chosen as one of the participants from Indore. She won many accolades for her acting from the judge’s Satish Kaushik and Mahesh Manjerekar but was eliminated after reaching the top 5.
Post elimination, she struggled for 4 years before she got the opportunity to be part of Jay Mehta’s ‘Bali Umar Ko Salaam’, on NDTV Imagine but for unknown reasons, the show did not go on air.
After this, she was finally featured as Archana in the popular daily soap, Pavitra Rishta opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. Her role garnered her not only praise but numerous awards as well. Ankita and Sushant fell for each other during the show. Rooting from their show sets, their love story propagated to their fans and every household and eventually, they became the most favorite on-screen and off-screen couple.
Ankita and Sushant broke off soon after the news of Sushant Singh’s Bollywood debut buzzed in the industry. Ankita also began her journey in Bollywood and bagged a meaty role in Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika. She received a lot of appreciation for her role.
