Talented actor Dilip Joshi became a household name with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and enjoys a wide fan base for his portrayal of Jethalal. He garnered a lot of fame from the show and best known for his comic timing. However, before Dilip bagged the role, it was offered to multiple Bollywood and TV celebrities. Today, we bring you the list of actors who had rejected Jethalal’s character in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. (According to reports in Times Now)
Rajpal Yadav: He was actually offered to play Jethalal in TMKOC. Due to reasons best known to him, the Hungama 2 actor refused to play the role. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rajpal was asked if regrets turning down the offer, to which the actor said, “No, no. The character of Jethalal is identified with a very fine actor, and I believe that an artist makes a character.”
Ali Asgar: The star best known for his act as Dadi in The Kapil Sharma Show, was also reportedly offered to play the iconic character. But Ali apparently couldn’t take up the role because of his prior work commitments.
Kiku Sharda: He had apparently got a chance to play Jethalal. According to various media reports, the actor refused to do it because he reportedly didn’t wish to do a full-fledged show.
Ahsaan Qureshi: The comedian apparently turned down the offer to play Jethalal in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The actor is known for doing The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.
Yogesh Tripathi: He is best known for playing the role of Daroga Happu Singh in Nehha Pendse and Rohitasv Gour-starrer Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. The actor was reportedly approached to play Jethalal Gada’s character in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. But due to his prior professional work commitments, Yogesh couldn’t come on board for this role.
