Supriya Kumari (Bairi Piya fame) who was on a break from TV is looking for a big ticket comeback.
Says the actress, “I was away from the scene for a while, for I had committed myself to few projects which did not see the light of the day. Also, my personality is such that I don’t jump ship mid-way.”
Looking ahead she is open to all kind of interesting characters. “Not necessarily positive; I am game for juicy negative roles as well.”
Talking about her journey, Supriya who started with a cameo in Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo says, “It has been a good ride so far. I have done few good TV projects, both fiction and nonfiction (Rakt Sambandh, Looteri Dulhan and Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan etc) with great people. This in turn netted me a couple of films (Zindagi 50 50) as well.”
However for the moment Supriya is more interested in making a big splash return with the tube. “This medium has made me what I am today and it is easier to reach the masses via it.”
She is also game for web series as well. “As for bold content, it needs to be justified by the script; I will not do anything just for the heck of it.”
When we ask her what makes the industry tick she says, “Jo Dikhta Hai Wohi Biktha Hai. No one has the time or patience to appreciate your inner qualities; you are judged solely by your exterior appearances.”
In closing this married lady says, “The most important thing in any relationship is to strike the right balance. Also today the house chores are shared by both. Luckily the industry today is also accepting married women; you just need to fit the role period.”
