Director Mainak Bhowmik, known for his romantic films, boldly ventures into the unknown with ‘Bhagyalakshmi,’ a thriller that radically departs from his usual style and plunges into dark parts of Bengali society.

The movie’s forged, which includes Solanki Roy and Ritwick Chakraborty, recently shared their deep involvement in bringing their characters to existence in an interview with Anandabazar Online.

Set against the backdrop of a five-megastar resort, the tale follows a center-elegance couple, played with the aid of Ritwick and Sholanki, whose lives take a drastic flip when a mysterious demise occurs.

Ritwick Chakraborty, playing a journalist, revealed, “My character seeks a story but faces obstacles. It’s about a couple entangled in problems, with no room for romance.”

Mainak Bhowmik emphasized, “I’ve told sweet love stories before, but today’s surroundings aren’t so sweet. People are being killed, and billions are recovered and stuffed in fridges. This film reflects that harsh reality.”

The cast acknowledged discussions about Bengal’s current entertainment industry woes, including muscle growth and corruption, which the film ‘Bhagyalakshmi’ aims to shed light on.

Solanki Roy expressed her excitement about working with Ritwik Chakraborty and praised Mainak’s direction. “Mainak didn’t allow romance; it’s a typical middle-class couple’s story.”

The film also features Sujan Neel Mukherjee, Loknath Dey, Debopriyo, and others.

As the crew wrapped up shooting, the cast reflected on the project’s significance.

“Bhagyalakshmi” promises to be a thought-provoking, thrilling ride, shedding light on Bengal’s dark realities.
