The episode of Anupamaa starts with Kavya being shocked that Bapuji transferred the property in Vanraj, Dolly as well as Anupamaa’s names. Anupamaa says that she can’t accept it. Bapuji asks why can’t she when it is her right. Anupamaa says she doesn’t need his property, she just wants his blessings. Bapuji says that in movies a person who sacrifices his/her property is considered great. But in real life women shouldn’t feel guilty to take what belongs to them. Sons shouldn’t be the only owner of the house. Anupamaa lived and worked in this house for 25 years. He says Vanraj and Dolly got the right by birth but Anupamaa earned it with hard work and love. Baa says Bapuji is right, she initially used to think that daughters don’t need right over the property but now has understood that everyone should get proper share over shelter.
Bapuji says especially women should get a share over the house so that her husband can’t tell her to leave the house. Vanraj tells Bapuji lets go inside. Bapuji stops him and tells Anupamaa that she doesn’t have right only on four walls but also the house. Bapuji requests her to stay with them as he doesn’t want to stay away from his daughter. Anupamaa says it will be weird for her to stay in the house after divorce. Bapuji asks if Vanraj’s affair and marriage in middle age are not weird. Baa asks what will people say. Bapuji tells her to stuff her ears with cotton as he doesn’t care what people will say., he only wants to stay with his daughter. Rakhi praises Bapuji’s decision. Bapuji requests to not punish him and her children for Vanraj’s mistakes. Anupamaa says that she will stay with her mother and brother.
Bapuji says he will be alone without her. Vanraj tells him he is there to take care of him. Bapuji tells him to handle his wife and Anupamaa will take care of him and Baa. Bapuji pleads with Anupamaa to stay and says he will stop eating if she leaves. Anupamaa tells him to not be adamant. Bapuji says old age is second childhood. Vanraj says that Kavya is the new daughter-in-law. Bapuji says she will get the respect as bahu but Anupmaa will not lose her respect as a daughter. He pleads with Anupamaa to stay. Anupamaa agrees, Kavya shouts saying Bapuji got emotional but Anupamaa is mature. Anupamaa says she can’t deny Bapuji’s wishes.
Kavya tells Anupamaa that she doesn’t want to see her in the house. Anupamaa says she doesn’t want to live with her as well she is only doing it for Bapuji. Bapuji says that Kavya and Vanraj will live on the first floor while Anupamaa, he and Baa will stay on the ground floor, children can stay where they want. Children say they will stay will mummy. He asks Vanraj if he wants to stay in the house or not. Vanraj says no but Kavya holds his hand saying they will stay as she wants to fight for her right. Baa brings aarti to welcome Anupamaa. Kavya says she is the bahu, Baa says they will perform Lakshmi’s aarti first and Anupamaa is the Lakshmi of this house.
