The episode of Anupamaa starts with Vanraj telling that he doesn’t like to take favours from anyone; so by the end of the month, he will pay the rent of his cafe. Anupamaa asks Vanraj where did the rent come from in their conversation. Vanraj says it is Anupamaa’s karkhana so he will pay her the rent as he is using her place. Anupamaa says that the karkhana belongs to Bapuji. Vanraj tells Anupamaa that Bapuji has given the karkhana to Anupamaa, so he will pay the rent to her. Kavya smirks. Anupamaa agrees and walks away.
Bapuji is upset with Vanraj. He tells Baa that Vanraj took Anupamaa’s help when he needed it and now is showing attitude. Bapuji says that they pamper Vanraj and forget to pay attention to Anupamaa’s hard work. Baa asks Bapuji to calm down and says she will talk to Vanraj. Bapuji says Baa should talk to Vanraj, or else Vanraj won’t like it if he will talk to him about it. Bapuji says he doesn’t want Vanraj to trouble Anupamaa. Vanraj scolds Manoj and asks him to focus and try to make similar dishes as Anupamaa makes. He then says Anupamaa got all the attention and compliments due to Kavya’s self-obsessive behaviour and his name did not appear anywhere.
2 media journalists come to Vanraj’s cafe, to interview Vanraj and Anupamaa. They say that they want to explain to the world that an ex-wife and ex-husband can still be friends after their divorce. Kavya says Anupamaa is not there so they can take Vanraj’s wife’s interview. The journalist says that they will take Kavya’s interview when they want to write about the second wife. Vanraj gets angry and says Anupamaa is not there, they can leave and come some other time. The journalist tells Vanraj that they will post bad reviews about the cafe owner and the cafe might get closed soon.
Later, A government officer comes and gives the property tax notice to Vanraj which is pending for years. Vanraj reads the letter and gets shocked to see that they have to pay Rs 20 lakh within a month. Vanraj worries. Vanraj is about to walk into Anupamaa’s Academy but he stops due to his ego. Anupamaa and Samar notice that Vanraj is disturbed.
Anupamaa’s student does mischief and locks the main door. Samar opens the main door and Vanraj’s cafe’s door. The letter flies and comes to Anupamaa. She gets shocked to know that they have to pay Rs 20 lakh. Anupamaa tells Vanraj that they can pay the money in an instalment.
Vanraj says that they have to clear the bill in one month failing which the Academy and the cafe will get closed. Anupamaa encourages Vanraj.
