The episode of Anupamaa starts with Anuj Kapadia climbing on the table and yelling that people say 40 is the new 30, but they are wrong. He says they are 20 with 20 years of experience. Devika tells Anupamaa that Anuj has not changed. She asks if he remembers him. Anupamaa says no, she says even Anuj was asking her the same thing. Anuj continues to say that when he was abroad his heart was still in India. He says he, his friends, and his heart are still here. He recites a Shayari and tells everyone to do what they did during their college days. One person says let’s eat and dance. Anuj says let’s dance and sing. Nandini meets Rohan and asks him what he wants. He says he just wants to say sorry. Nandini says he is too late for that. Rohan says he was an idiot and realised his mistake after his mother met with an accident.
Rohan tells Nandini that he loves her and he knows she does too. Nandini says she has moved on. Rohan tells her that he knows Samar is just a time pass for her. Nandini warns him to not say anything about Samar. She says with Samar she gets the feeling of a true relationship. Nandini tells him to leave, but Rohan forcefully holds her hand. Samar comes and punches him. He says in India if a person touches women without permission he will be beaten. He warns him to stay away from Nandu or else he will not return to USA with the same face. Rohan says he will go but return for Nandu. Samar gets mad thinking how dare he called her Nandu.
Anuj sings songs on his guitar. Devika notices his attention towards Anupamaa. Vanraj and Kavya pass by them and think it’s a fun party. Devika tells Anuj that people forget faces but he still remembers everything from the past. She says he has loved a girl for so many years without any expectations. Anuj says a person can either expect or love. So he decided to love. Devika asks if he didn’t find anyone in USA in 26 years. Anuj says he found many but nobody could settle in his heart. Devika says she hopes he finds a place in Anupamaa’s heart. He tells her to not give him any hope. She takes him to Anupamaa and insists they dance. Anupamaa and Anuj start dancing. Kavya and Vanraj pass by hoping they can party like this sometimes.
Devika says no one can be like Anuj and Anupamaa. Kavya and Vanraj go to check and are shocked to see Anupamaa dancing with Anuj Kapadia. Kavya says he is Anuj Kapadia. Anupamaa seeing them goes to ask what they are doing here. Kavya says she didn’t tell them that Anuj Kapadia is her classmate. Anupamaa says she didn’t know. Vanraj says she is dancing with someone she doesn’t know. Kavya says what she would have done if she knew him. Anupamaa tells her to stop talking rubbish. Devika comes with Anuj and asks Vanraj what he is doing here. Anuj says he remembers Vanraj but didn’t know he was Anupamaa’s ex-husband. Kavya says if he knew he would have not cancelled the deal.
Anuj says he liked their property and will get back to them once legal doubts are sorted. Anupamaa says this is not the place to talk about business. Anuj says she is right as this is the place to party. Anuj requests them all to join the party. Vanraj and Kavya leave saying it’s getting late. Anupamaa says she will leave too. She thanks Devika for bringing her here. And thanks Anuj for throwing the party, she says she will remember his name from now on. Anuj offers to drop her but she declines saying she likes to be alone.
