The episode of Anupamaa starts with Anupamaa and Baa making preparations for Janmashtami. Bapuji plays a song and starts dancing and flirting with Baa. Anupamaa says Baa and Bapuji make for the next best couple after Radha and Krishna. Kavya and Vanraj return from workouts. Kavya says she and Vanraj will become Radha and Krishna for Janmashtami. Vanraj says it’s for children and he doesn’t want to do it. But Kavya insists on him saying he used to do it with Anupamaa. Anupamaa says all the couples as well as soon to be couples Samar and Nandini will dress as Radha and Krishna. She says Pakhi will become Gopi. GK makes Anuj wear a Bal Gopal cap. Anuj says he is 44 years and not a kid. Both father and son pull each other’s legs and joke.
GK then makes Anuj wear sherwani and does his aarti. Anuj asks since his parents are not alive does he feel it’s his responsibility to love him. GK says it’s his birthday and gives him 44 silver coins. Anuj says today he will spend the day with his family. And for him GK is his father, friend, sibling, and most importantly his mummy. GK smiles and tells him to visit the temple today. Nandini tells Anupamaa that she is worried about Samar. Anupamaa says that Samar will soon realise that she didn’t tell him about Rohan as she didn’t want him to get hurt. Nandini says she still has hurt him. Anupamaa says pain comes free with love and they should learn to close door on pain. Anupamaa says even Radha and Krishna would fight. She assures Nandini that Samar’s anger will calm down.
Samar asks Rohan why he asked to meet him. Rohan says he came back from USA as Nandini was replying to his messages. He says he was wrong to leave her in between, but they are not separated but just took a break. He says Nandini was his first love and they still love each other. He tells Samar to digest the truth. Rohan says he doesn’t know what Nandini has told Samar about him but she sure hasn’t told him about the time they had spent together. Samar gets angry hearing this. Rohan says Samar might love Nandini, but Nandini loves him as he is her first love.
The family start the Janmashtami celebration. Pakhi says Devika has sent the party pictures to her as mummy doesn’t have a smartphone. She plays the videos and photos. Baa gets angry seeing her with Anuj and taunts Anupamaa that she will get knee pain if she dances so much. Anupamaa tells Pakhi to close it. Kavya asks why she is trying to hide. Anupamaa says she is not hiding anything. Kinjal says the photos and videos are decent but mummy asks to close as Vanraj and family will feel bad and Kavya will get jealous. Pakhi asks if he is the same guy who had a crush on her. Kavya taunts Anupamaa if it was just one-sided or fire was on both sides. Baa tells Anupamaa that certain things look good only at a certain age or else it will give pain to knees and dear ones.
