The episode of Anupamaa starts with Anupamaa asking Vanraj if he is fine. He asks why she is asking. She says because he agreed to Samar and Nandini’s engagement. He says he has started thinking positive and Samar would never listen to him so it’s better to do as he wishes. Anumapaa says it is better to finish the engagement in this resort than to book another later. She says she has to inform Nandini’s parents and convince Baa. Vanraj says they both will talk to Baa and he will take permission from Nandini’s parents. They congratulate each other and Vanraj goes smiling. Anumapaa hopes that the engagement program goes smoothly. She is excited and dances happily. Kavya sees her and is jealous but looks at the thread tied to her hand and remembers Anupamaa’s promise.
Advait is playing basuri, Vanraj comes and watches him. Advait asks when he came. He says some time ago he and apologises for disturbing him. Advait says he didn’t realise the power of music until his friend hit him with his guitar. Vanraj says he wanted to learn musical instruments but never got a chance. Advait says it’s never too late to learn. Vanraj asks permission for performing an engagement ceremony in the resort, Advait says there’s no permission for celebration. Anupamaa sees Baa spying at Kavya through her binocular. Anupamaa says that she has to accept Kavya as her bahu. She says she will never let her son marry Kavya. Kavya hears their conversation and gets jealous. Anupamaa takes aamras for Kavya and asks if she heard the conversation. Kavya nods, Anupamaa apologises on Baa’s behalf. Kavya says she is jealous of Anupamaa as she is wandering for a home while Anupamaa finds home everywhere she goes. Anupamaa says she shouldn’t be jealous as she will soon be married. Kavya says her illness might change things. Anupamaa tells her to trust and have patience.
Vanraj calls Kavya to talk to her about Nandini and Samar’s engagement. Kavya taunts him that he finally got free time. Vanraj says he is here to inform her about Nandini and Samar’s engagement. She says what. He says it’s Anupamaa’s wish. Kavya says he only cares about Anupamaa’s happiness. She tells him that even they can get engaged here. He gets angry and says how can they get engaged without divorce. She says she thinks they will only marry after Anupamaa dies. Vanraj gets angry and raises his hand to slap her.
Anupamaa comes and stops him. She yells at him for raising his hand on a woman. He tells her she does not know what Kavya said. Anupamaa says Kavya said it in anger but that doesn’t mean he should hit her. A man should leave the argument if it goes out of hand, but he has no right to raise his hand on women. No man should think that they can control women. She then tells Kavya that old Anupamaa was helpless but Kavya is a modern woman she should stand up for herself. She tells Vanraj to learn from his old relationship and not repeat the same mistake. She goes away, Vanraj apologises to Kavya and leaves. Kavya says that she didn’t wish for Anupamaa’s death. Vanraj follows Anupamaa with a carrier and tells her to sit, she says that he should apologise to Kavya. Vanraj says it’s Kavya fault as she wants him to leave Anupamaa at this stage. She says she doesn’t need his help and he should instead focus on his relationship with Kavya. At night while sleeping Anupamaa and Vanraj reminisce over the incident. Kavya wakes up remembering that Vanraj was about to slap her.
