In the beginning, Samar receives a call from Anuj informing him that Rohan is with him. The entire family rushes over, Vanraj clutching Rohan’s collar. Anuj tells him to relax and pay attention to Rohan. He was about to make a major blunder and damage Anupamaa when Anuj uncle intervened. Rohan adds that he attempted to attack her twice but was stopped by Anuj uncle, who taught him the value of love. Nandini expresses her gratitude to Anuj. Samar exclaims with delight that he knew things would be OK when Anuj was present. Toshu screams that he made a huge mistake by going to Anuj instead of informing him. Toshu wonders what would have happened if Anuj had hurt mummy. How could he when Anuj was present, Samar wonders? Anuj thanks Bapuji. Devika compliments Anuj on how quickly he solves the problem. Anupamaa then expresses gratitude to Anuj for saving Samar, Nandin, and now her. Anuj says there’s no need to thank him; if he had known Samar hadn’t notified them, he would have informed them sooner. Mr Shah, according to Anuj, would have done the same if Samar had informed him. Baa thanks Anuj for assisting her family and informs him that the celebration mandap belongs to the community, not them and that if he is seen, locals will embarrass him, so he should go. Anuj acknowledges that she is correct, that he has completed his duties, and apologises if he has overstepped any boundaries before departing with GK greeting them with Jai Sri Krishna. Vanraj informs Anupamaa that he would not allow Anuj to take his position in the lives of his children. Anupamaa claims that Anuj isn’t doing anything, that he didn’t come here on his own but Samar’s invitation, that this is Samar’s fault, and that they are making a worse mistake by allowing their children to share their problems with them; Vanraj advises Anuj to befriend but not to strive to be a father figure; she should inform Anuj that her children’s father is still alive.

Anuj chastises GK for insisting on meeting Anupamaa’s family at festivals, but they are uncomfortable with their presence, therefore he has opted to avoid Anupamaa’s children and family. Anupamaa is confronted by Devika for allowing Baa to humiliate Anuj by pushing him out of the mandap. Devika inquires about Anuj; he responds that Anupamaaj is loyal to his friends, but they are not. Devika claims she isn’t, and she’s referring to Anupamaa and her family, who took advantage of Anuj and kicked him out. Anuj saved Anupamaa’s life, but Anupamaa’s dignity was not saved. Anuj kept up with his pal, but Anupamaa didn’t. Baa believes it’s a good thing Anuj left because otherwise, the ladies would have gossiped about Anupamaa and Anuj. When Anupamaa returns with Anuj and GK, Baa and Vanraj frown. Anuj recalls declining to join Anupamaa because he does not want to see her humiliated.
