Anupamaa protests Baa’s command at the opening of the episode, stating that Anuj would not leave here. She claims that Baa and her supporters falsely accused her and Anuj of friendship, but that their reasoning is terrible and base. Baa claims that a boy and a female can be buddies in America but not in our country. Neighbour Sarla says she may preserve her friendship in Anuj’s neighbourhood and not here, as Anupamaa claims she already told her that a boy and girl’s friendship is an example in their culture. Baa is warned by Sarla to keep her mouth shut. Anupamaa cautions her to keep her cheap ideas to herself. Anupamaa wonders if she is qualified to be a saas/MIL because she constantly harasses her bahu and demands dowry from her on every occasion; instructs her to keep her lips quiet or she would be completely exposed.
Anupamaa then informs Baa that Anuj is a cultured and humble man. Anupamaa claims he could have easily destroyed them, but even after Baa humiliated him and GK, he never crossed his limits; his only mistake was that he supported her, protected her son, and gave her a job, and instead of Baa thanking Anuj for saving her grandson, Baa criticises a saviour; Anuj respected her more than Mr Shah or Toshu did. Similarly to Baa’s son, grandson, and husband’s friends, her friend will pay a visit to their home and neighbourhood, and if Baa cannot respect him, she will not allow anyone else to mistreat him. Everyone except Baa and her squad claps after Bapuji. Anupamaa takes Samar’s phone and shoots a selfie of her and Anuj, explaining that the photo came out great not because of the camera, but because of their nice hearts. After what Anupamaa did, Baa claims they can’t stay in the same room.
Anupamaa returns to her room, removes her jewellery, and goes to sleep remembering today’s events.
