At the start, Kanta is moved by Anupamaa and Devika’s conversation. Anuj inquires as to what transpired. When a girl grows up, her mother decides what to wear, whom to befriend, when and how to leave the house, and so on; even though she was the same mother and never let Anupamaa befriend anyone, she realised she was wrong during Anupamaa’s divorce and realised that a friend is always needed in life, whether a boy or a girl. She goes to Anuj’s phone and takes pictures of Anupamaa, Anuj, and Devika.
Kinjal and Nandini give Bapuji medicine at night. Anupamaa, according to Bapuji, left junior Anupamaa here. According to Bapuji, she should become Anupamaa version 2 and not Anupamaa version 1, who used to suffer silently without speaking up against injustice done to her. She should not make the same error as he and Anupamaa and should fight for her rights. After Kinjal and Nandini have left, Kavya serves Bapuji milk and inquires if he is still furious with her. Kavya becomes enraged, believing she is attempting to impress one while the other becomes enraged and wonders how Anupamaa used to handle it all.
On Dil Chahta Hai, Anupamaa, Anuj, and Devika have a lot of fun dancing and laughing together. Toshu enters his room, hoping Anupamaa is okay and assuming he is mad at her, but he is also her son. When Pakhi and Kinjal see Anupamaa, Anuj, and Devika’s photo on Devika’s social network account, he becomes enraged. She claims she never said anything like that. She claims she wants to be with her husband but not with a son who disrespects his mother, thus he has the final say.
Devika pretends to be asleep for Anupamaa and Anuj to converse. Baa prepares laddoos the next morning, saying that it is her house and that she doesn’t care if Anupamaa departs; she will celebrate Diwali alone and will never be happy. Baa promises that she would prepare special meals to make Anupamaa envious and that Anupamaa’s Diwali and entire life will be dark for the rest of her life. After Anupamaa has left, Vanraj asks Baa to stop cursing her. Baa begins yelling at Anupamaa and her mother, asking whether her mother has also kicked her out of the house.
