In the beginning, Anuj admits that he has loved Anupamaa for 26 years and will continue to do so until he dies. Does Vanraj deserve Anupamaa’s love, does Baa deserve Anupamaa praying for her like a god, does Toshu deserve such a sacrificing and loving mother; he prays Anupamaa for her greatness and when Bapuji, Mamaji, Kinjal, Samar can see this, why can’t they see this; he loves Anupamaa, but she loves only them and they should change before it’s too late. Samar reappears and observes Anupamaa listening to Anuj’s words. When Anupamaa gets home, he recalls hearing Anuj’s confession. Vanraj, on the other hand, recalls Devika taking Anupamaa to see her past, their dance, standing up for each other, and so on, and believes he already knew about it; he shouldn’t be troubled if Anuj likes or romances her. Anuj has a panic attack and believes he has committed a mistake and would not repeat it, therefore he should tell Anupamaa everything, risking their friendship.

Kavya tries to irritate Vanraj by expressing her dissatisfaction with Anuj’s love for a middle-aged lady who isn’t as attractive as she is, and that it’s a good thing their romance is over, etc. Samar, on the other hand, approaches Anupamaa and asks what is wrong if Anuj loves her. Anupamaa claims that Anuj is merely a friend and attempts to flee. She has a breakdown. Anuj walks down the street, recalling Anupamaa’s stand against his family. He returns home, recalling all of his recent interactions with Anupamaa.
