In the beginning, Vanraj ignores Kavya and continues to work on his laptop when she tries to communicate with him. Kavya tells him that she has been attempting to speak with him for a long time but that he is uninterested. He claims she told him she would take care of his family and home, and that she is doing her best for him, even after Baa insulted her by asking her to leave her room yesterday. He begs that she did not look at the price like his mother and all housewives do, and when he senses she is getting an idea, he says they will set a rule in their restaurant allowing ladies to read the menu first and select items first, and explains why. Anupamaa feels bad for being a part of her everyday routine and claims it is improper.
Anuj dismisses Anupamaa and promises to send her the meeting details. Anupamaa claims that Anuj has always been there for her, from helping her find her sandal to attending her daughter’s PTM instead of his crucial meeting; he does so much for her without expecting anything in return, and she puts all of her worries on him in return. She claims that she is becoming too formal, that friends are supposed to aid one another, and that friendship grants the right to share one another’s troubles. Not Anuj, says Anupamaa.
Devika claims that Anuj likes to help and be with her because he loves her, despite his family humiliating him, and that she would help him in need; she claims that the problem is not trying for a job, citing Kavya as an example of someone who tried her hardest to find a new job after losing her previous one. Anupamaa clarifies that she is only concerned about Anuj and asks that her concern not be misconstrued as love. Anupamaa claims she doesn’t love Anuj since she once adored Vanraj and is heartbroken. She goes on to talk about their 50th wedding anniversary, saying that children don’t remember their wedding anniversary, and if they do, they won’t celebrate it, so they should go to a temple that day and spend the entire day in bhajan keertan.
