In the start, after her verbal altercation with Kavya, Anupamaa returns to her family. Vanraj inquires as to what transpired. Anupamaa remains silent and wonders aloud why everyone is so serious. Vanraj inquires as to what Kavya said. It’s between her and Kavya, says Kavya. She tells Baa and Bapuji that she wants to give them something special for their 50th wedding anniversary, returns property paperwork to Bapuji, and explains that Anupamaa taught her that family is everything, thus she needs their happiness and V’s love. He claims that Kavya changed dramatically for the better after spending a few minutes with her. Anupamaa claims that Kavya has changed because she loves Mr Shah. She shows how a woman’s terror in her in-laws’ house, for example, is similar to that of any other woman. She claims she can now freely visit her parents’ home and will even focus on their business. Vanraj claims she made his parents happy, and he wants to thank her with a gift. Divorce, she says. He claims he was insane to marry her and that he quickly realised his error; she claims he cannot divorce her without reason. He claims she was devoid of reasoning when she forced her to marry her, claiming that marriage was her choice and divorce was his. She again blames Anupamaa, claiming that she inflamed V against her. Anupamaa claims that this is a matter between her and her husband and that she should not be involved. If he hits her, Kavya screams.
Vanraj pulls her away from him and tells her not to blame Anupamaa for his decision. Kavya claims that they both plotted everything, that they became BFFs and provoked her to do everything, and that they are now embroiled in a divorce battle. Vanraj claims that this is how she interprets events. He grins and hands her another copy, explaining that he has created several copies and that she will be wary of pulling them apart, so she should sign them.
