Today’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 29 July episode starts with Kairav searching Kartik (Mohsin Khan) everywhere in the Goenka house. He finally saw Kartik busy on a phone call. He shouted to Kartik. Kartik got a huge shock on seeing Kairav home. The entire family got a shock when they heard Kairav calling Kartik as his Papa. Kartik found Kairav falling down and hugged him. He hugged Kairav. Naira (Shivangi Joshi) told her friend that she couldn’t enter Goenka house as it was Kartik’s house. She told that Kairav was brought to his dad again by fate. She couldn’t go inside to get Kairav.
They thought of the coincidences happening with Kairav and Naira. Naira didn’t know why she was being tested again and again. Naira panicked. She wanted to find a solution to get Kairav out. Kartik asked Kairav how he came. Vansh told Kartik that Kairab called him dad on seeing the photo and he got him home to confirm it. Kairav and Vansh argued in a kiddish way. Kairav recognized Dadi and told that she was a thief who stole kids. Dadi told them that she met Kairav in Goa. Kairav asked Kartik if this was his family. Everyone asked Kartik about Kairav, why he was calling him Papa. Suwarna told them that the kid made random calls to Kartik and then met him in Goa, he assumed Kartik to be his dad.
Dadi got emotional knowing their bonding. She wished that if Kartik had a son, he would have looked the same. Kartik took care of Kairav. He wanted to know where Kairav’s mum was. Naira asked her friend to get Kairav out. Her friend asked her to meet Kartik once and accept him. Naira didn’t want to ruin Kartik’s life when he was moving on after a long time. She didn’t want to re-enter the family. She wanted Kartik’s engagement to happen without any obstacle. Kartik kept Naira’s photo with the garlands. Kairav didn’t see the photo. Kairav asked Kartik about the decorations in the house, if it was someone’s birthday. Vansh told Kairav about the engagement function. Kartik didn’t tell the truth to Kairav. He asked Vansh not to tell anything. Kartik handled Naira’s photo and saved it from a fall. Naira’s friend met them to get Kairav back.
Kairav refused to go with her. Kartik didn’t want to send Kairav when the latter requested him to not send him away. Naira’s friend insisted Kartik to let her take Kairav, who was waiting for them. Kartik asked her to call Kairav’s mum home. Naira called her friend to know the situation. She asked her to manage the situation some how, since she couldn’t come inside. Kartik asked Naira’s friend about their trip to Udaipur. She could not answer him anything. Kairav told about the hospital visit, which worried Kartik. Naira’s friend asked Kartik to send Kairav before his engagement; else he would have to answer Kairav and the guests as well. Kartik wanted to meet Kairav’s mum.
