The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starts with Kartik hearing Kairav and Vansh’s conversation. Kairav says Sirat looks like his mother and is a nice girl, so he wanted to make Sirat, his mother, but now doesn’t want Kartik to marry anyone. Kartik thinks that his son is very understanding. Kartik recollects his past conversation with Naira. Naira asks him to remarry if something happens to her during delivery. Kartik says he cannot love someone else. Naira asks Kartik just to remarry and not stay alone. Kartik agrees. Kartik thinks he agreed just for namesake, but cannot give Naira’s place to anyone. Kartik says Kairav understands that but Sirat doesn’t.
Sirat comes there and asks why he is taking her name. She asks if she is a Goddess. Kartik says she is a devil. Suwarna comes there and says Sirat has come at the right time as Kairav is missing her. Suwarna asks Kartik to get fresh. Sirat tells Suwarna that Shreya will arrive in some time.
Sirat decorates the table for Kartik and Shreya. She sees Kairav and asks why he is upset. Kairav says she doesn’t want a stepmother as they don’t behave well with kids. Sirat explains Kairav that Suwarna is Kartik’s stepmother yet she loves him a lot, the same way Kairav’s stepmother will also love him.
Kartik comes to Sirat. Sirat asks Kartik to change his shirt as it’s very simple. Kartik gets a call and goes back to his room. Sirat comes there. She asks Kartik to wear some other shirt. Kartik asks who is coming to see him. Sirat says Shreya. Kartik asks who is Shreya. Sirat says she is trying to find a partner for Kartik. Kartik says he doesn’t want to marry anyone, he cannot give Naira’s place to anyone.
Sirat asks Kartik to give a chance to Shreya. Sirat says she will want Kartik to change the shirt. Sirat tries to pull Kartik’s shirt. She collides with the tables and Naira’s picture falls. Kartik holds Naira’s picture and gets angry. He scolds Sirat. Kartik says he made a false promise just to make Sirat happy. Kartik says he cannot replace Naira and asks Sirat to leave. He asks Sirat not to interfere in his life. Sirat gets angry and leaves.
Suwarna convinces Kartik to apologize to Sirat. Sirat asks Ranvir to take her home. She takes her purse and is about to leave, but Kartik holds her purse. Kartik apologizes to Sirat for scolding her and making a false promise. Kartik explains to Sirat that he loves Naira and no one can force him to move on. Kartik says Sirat suffered for 2 years when she was not with Ranvir and now she got her love back. Kartik says he can live with Naira’s memories.
Ranvir tells Sirat that Kartik is right. He says that he missed Sirat every single day and asks if she missed him. Sirat asks Ranvir if he is testing her. Sirat says she missed Ranvir’s boxing. Kartik and Ranvir joke. Sirat thinks.
