The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starts with Kartik explaining Sirat that they will focus on their fight and will win. He says everything will change with time. Kairav tells Dadi that he forgot today is Teej and it will be fun as there will be yummy food and dance. Kartik looks at the decoration and recollects his Teej with Naira. Kairav says today Sirat will also keep fast for Kartik as they are married now. Manish yells at Kairav. Kairav gets scared and asks Manish if he said something wrong. Manish apologises to Kairav and says he vented out someone’s anger on Kairav. Kairav says he thought Manish did not like when Kairav called Sirat by her name and not Mumma. Kairav says if he will call Sirat, Mumma then Sirat might not like it so he will call Sirat by her name. Kairav and Vansh leave to go to school. Manish taunts Kartik and they start arguing. Dadi stops them and says that they can fight after she dies, now she is alive, so she will make all things right. Dadi says she already made her decision.
Sirat thinks why Ranvir and Nani asked Kartik to take care of her, now Kartik will not think about his family and help her as he promised. Kairav comes with a gift to her. He stumbles. Sirat holds Kairav and asks him to be careful. Kairav asks Sirat to check the gift. Sirat opens the box and finds a lehenga in it. Kairav says he couldn’t bring a new lehenga but he took an unused lehenga from Gayu. Kairav asks Sirat to wear the lehenga for the pooja.
Dadi comes there with some jewellery and sindoor. She asks Sirat to get ready as Kartik’s wife and Goenka’s Bahu. Dadi says she won’t tolerate it if Sirat tries to deny it. Dadi asks Sirat to get ready and come for the pooja. Sirat looks at the sindoor and worries.
Kartik comes to Sirat and says now Sirat has to decide what she wants. Kartik says they just have to pretend and go with the flow. Sirat recollects Nani’s words where Nani is saying that they should never look in the past or it might affect the present and future. Sirat says she made her decision.
Later, Dadi waits for Sirat to arrive. Kairav says he will call Sirat. Sirat gets ready and comes down. Dadi asks Sirat to start the pooja. Manish says if Sirat will do the pooja then he will not be a part of it. Sirat feels bad and is about to leave. Dadi stops her and says if anyone from her family will leave the pooja then she will go to the Ashram and never come back. Dadi asks Sirat to do the pooja. Sirat starts the pooja.
After the pooja, Dadi says their next ritual will be, the married lady has to sit on the swing and dedicate a poem for their husband. Suwarna, Surekha and Sirat do the ritual.
