The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starts with Akhilesh calling Kartik and asking if the lawyer reached Jaisalmer on time. Kartik says the lawyer reached on time, and all their work is done.
Kartik says he will be staying with Nani for some time and then will return. Manish asks Kartik not to wait there and return home. Kartik ignores Manish and disconnects the call.
Rhea says Sirat made Kartik pay all the hospital bills and now the house. Rhea says they should keep Kartik away from Sirat. Surekha says Sirat is smart, she stole the ring and then threw it from the kitchen so that Kartik will feel guilty and go to meet her to Jaisalmer.
Meanwhile, Kartik asks Sirat who is Mukesh to her family. Sirat changes the topic and asks where Kartik found the ring. Kartik says in their backyard.
Kairav wakes up. Sirat goes to him and says they will make breakfast together.
Kartik sits beside Nani and sees Sheela peeping into their house. He asks Nani what Mukesh and his family are to them.
Nani says Sheela is Sirat’s real mother, but Mukesh is not her father. Nani says Sirat’s father was unable to complete Sheela’s demands, so she ran away with Mukesh, leaving Sirat alone. Nani says when Sirat was 8, her mother left her.
Kartik looks at Sirat and feels bad for her. Nani says sometimes stepmothers also love their kids well, but Sheela being Sirat’s real mother, never loved Sirat.
Later, Kartik tries to call Manish, but Manish doesn’t answer his call. Akhilesh calls Kartik and asks him to return home. Kartik says he will wait for a few days until Kairav understands that Sirat is not his mother.
