Makarand Deshpande was born on 6th March in the year 1966. He was born in Dahanu in Maharashtra. We all know that he is an actor in Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Telegu and Malayalam films, but he is also a writer and director for the same. He is widely known for his commendable acting in movies like Swades, Buddha….Hoga Tera Baap and Darna Zaroori Hai. He has directed over 5 movies and is often recognized for his roles of a drunkard or a comic.

However, what most of us do not know about the actor is the fact that he is also a blessing to Indian theatre. He has done over 90 theatrical works in his span of experience, 50 being short plays and 40 full length plays. Examples of few of his famous works would be Sir Sir Sirla, Krishna Kidding and Shakepearcha Mhatara. One of his recent plays, Patni, was a hit all over the country. The star’s journey in the theatre world started in 1990 at Prithvi Theatre with some support from Sanjana Kapoor. His debut in the theatre world was at Ansh Theatre Group, where he worked alongside Kay Kay Menon. In order to see Makarand in his true element while acting, one must watch him in action on stage.
