Our very own Mussadilal from ‘Office Office’ has had a stage career like very few could ever boast of in the film industry. Veteran actor Pankaj Kapoor has given some of the most priceless gems to Bollywood and we can’t help but be all praises for this critically acclaimed actor.
Here are some of his finest performances on stage that literally turned heads!
1) Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro
“JaaneBhi Do Yaaro” is a comedy movie released in the year 1983 that received immense success. The storyline revolves around two photographers hired by a newspaper editor to expose the discreditable activities by the rich but they accidentally came across corruption of a constructor who killed a person and had photographs as evidence to murder.
2) Maqbool:
Adapted from Macbeth, Maqbool is a drama and crime related movie. Viewers regard this movie as a “Masterpiece” from Director Vishal Bhardwaj and we can’t agree more.
3) Dharm:
Dharm has a plot which states the conditions when a priest’s wife brought home an orphan boy, but her husband Pandit Chaturvedi (Pankaj Kapoor) was against it. Over time, he evolved an attachment with him but was shocked to find out the boy’s religion. Dharm really stirred up emotions and the audience praised it for its beautiful use of poetic motifs.
4) Ek Doctor Ki Maut:
Released in 1990, “Ek Doctor Ki Maut” has a thought-provoking storyline which revolved around the life of Dr. Roy who finally develops a vaccine for leprosy but irony struck when he got transferred to a remote village.
5) The Blue Umbrella:
A film based on a novel written by Ruskin Bond, The Blue Umbrella (1980), narrated the story which revolves around a small girl and village’s only shop owner Nand Kishore Khatri(Pankaj Kapoor).
