Habib Tanvir used to work mostly with tribal people as he thought their talent was unnoticed and very priceless. Some of his amazing works are Charandas Chor, Gaon ka Naam Sasural, Mor Naam Damad and Kamdeo ka Apna Basant Ritu ka Sapna With his this talent and capability he has won himself many awards. Some are national while some of our international.
Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri are one of the most prestigious awards to be won and he took the title. Apart from that, he was nominated to be a member of the Indian parliament. During his mid 20’s he moved to Mumbai and worked with the all India radio. He wrote some Urdu and English songs in the meantime and also played s sied role in them.
He joined the IPTA in further and later took over the organization as the other member was imprisoned for protesting against the British rule. After having a good post he organized his first hit play Agra bazar based on the Urdu poets Nazir Akbarbadi.
And this play at the start was not organized in a theatre but was kind of a street play. With this, he further wrote many scripts and hit plays. He then moved to England in order to learn more about this industry There he joined RADA and observed the plays held in Europe. He stayed in Berlin for more than 1 year in order to learn about the theatre culture there. He watched the famous plays of Bertolt Brecht. When he returned to India he produced the play Mitti ki Gaadi which was based on the Sanskrit culture. This was one of the very important plays for him.
