Pearl Padamsee’s Contribution To The Theatre World

In the year 1931 Pearl Padamsee was born and on the 24th of April in the year 2000 she   expired in Mumbai. She was a phenomenal Indian theatre actress. Not only that, she was also a producer and director in the English language. This theatre persona was an eminent name in the acting world and has made many contributions to theatre. She was adored by fans and was popular among kids because ran after-school theatre workshops for them.

Pearl had also been part of English and Hindi films. A few examples of them are Khatta Meetha, Junoon, Such A Long Journey and Baaton Baaton Mein. The star entered theatre and realised her love for it after her marriage to Alyque Padamsee, who is also a famous theatre persona. The two had a daughter, Raell Padamsee who is also into theatre. Pearl had an active career from 1950 to 1990. She is known for her Indian productions in English theatre like Godspell, Princess, Don’t Drink The Water, Betrayal and many others, which went viral across the country.
